Attention to portion size is an important strategy in the fight against obesity. For many, the issue of serving size is a confusing one. Dont be deceived with portion distortion! Portion sizes offered by fast food chains are often two to five times larger than when first introduced. Large portions contribute to overweight in three ways:

  • They provide more calories, than smaller portions.
  • Encourage people to consume significantly more calories.
  • We greatly underestimate those calories.
